Aisha is a devoted mother to one — and her only son, Wassim, is the reason Green Roots exists today. His journey, his needs, and his quiet resilience opened her eyes to how few safe, understanding spaces there were for neurodiverse young people, especially those aged 10–17.
What began as a mother searching for support became a mission to create what didn’t exist. Green Roots grew from her determination to ensure no child feels lost, overlooked, or without a place to belong during the most vulnerable years of growing up.
Aisha leads with lived experience, compassion, and a fierce belief that every neurodiverse young person deserves a community where they can grow, connect, and be celebrated exactly as they are. Her dedication continues to shape the heart and direction of Green Roots every day.

Puru is a dedicated father whose passion for Green Roots comes from his journey raising his younger son, Divij, who is on the autism spectrum. Alongside this, Puru also grew up with a sibling experiencing mental illness, giving him a deep, lifelong understanding of what families face when support is limited or hard to find. His lived experience — both as a parent and as a sibling — fuels his commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces for neurodiverse young people. Puru brings empathy, resilience, and a strong community focus to Green Roots, helping shape a place where every child can grow and belong.

Rash comes from a strong medical background and is a devoted mum to two boys. Her younger son is on the autism spectrum, while her older son is neurotypical — a dynamic that brought real challenges in helping them understand each other, communicate, and build a healthy sibling bond. Through her own family’s journey, Rash saw how often siblings struggle quietly, and how many families feel unsure about how to support both children equally.
This experience inspired her to help create Green Roots as a safe space where siblings can connect, families can learn how to bridge the gap between their children, and young carers can feel seen and supported. Rash brings compassion, professional insight, and lived experience to her role, helping shape Green Roots into a community where every child — neurodiverse or neurotypical — can grow, belong, and thrive.
